When we met many years ago, Ulla already had one foot in Italy. After about a year of commuting, husband followed wife, and we settled at Monterosso. The Euganean Hills with their varied nature immediately cast a spell on us and the small village of Monterosso has been our home ever since. La Mugletta was a turning point that closed our busy schedules and gave us new space for our passions. While Ulla gives free rein to her creativity in her ceramics studio or conjures up cakes and jams, Eberhard devotes himself to beekeeping and bread baking. Anyone looking for us will usually find us in the kitchen or in the fruit and vegetable garden.
La Mugletta for us means being in the here and now, in the middle of this beautiful nature. A place to come together or to be alone, to grow and feel good, to create and share. Preferably with our guests!<\/p>\n

The circular cycle route is perfect for gravel bikes. And you always pass beautiful little villages. We have often booked through Urlaubsarchitektur and are always happy to be able to vacation in such great properties with privacy. The look and exclusivity are worth something to us and the price-performance ratio is right! You know how you get in touch by email and notice how the attitude and character of the writer is already apparent between the lines… That's exactly how it was with us… From the very beginning I had the feeling that this must be a very special place with very special hosts. And so it was! Ulla and Eberhard have created something very special here. The property – yes, it's not just an architecturally outstanding house designed by local architects, it's a spacious property that opens up as soon as you pass the large entrance gate … no, nothing pompous, harmonious, quiet charm, and yet somehow driving up to the house gives me a sublime feeling … I'm moving in here, were my first words when we entered this so tastefully designed house and the view from the terrace fell on the Colli Euganei. Magical. I don't want to write a novel here, so I'll keep it short. The rooms left nothing to be desired: quiet, can be darkened, VERY comfortable bed, super clean, lots of storage space and always fresh flowers from the garden … just like the rest of the house. Breakfast – just great and so lovingly prepared by Ulla and served in homemade crockery … the host bakes himself, makes the honey himself, the eggs come from his own chickens, every time it's different, it's actually a brunch … there is a small selection of fine cheeses (have you ever tried gorgonzola with maraschino cherry) … fresh and wafer-thin sliced local ham from the butcher … homemade jams … be sure to try the mulberry jam, fine cornetti from the best patisseria on the square .. specially marinated vegetables and and and, oh yes, and then the delicious fresh fruit salad. All of this is made even more special by the authentic warmth, generosity and reserved attention of the hosts Ulla and Eberhard, whom we have since taken to our hearts. And then there is the special landscape. The area is breathtaking. And Padua is only 20 minutes away, as is Vicenza; Venice is only 50 minutes away by train. And Ulla is very happy to share her tips on 'what to see, what to do and where to eat' on request. We'll be back and many of our friends are planning to. How many stars can I award here? I can only recommend trying the apero cena dinner…. Ulla and Eberhard whipped up an incredible meal for us and it was the perfect way to get to know the area and their B&B after a long flight. We were interested in cheese and they helped us organize an unforgettable tasting at a nearby dairy. Both Ulla and Eberhard took a lot of time to help us via email with tips to make our trip truly memorable. The breakfast …. was also unforgettable I miss it! I love that the eggs come from their own chickens and are served on plates that Ulla has prepared herself. ….. The honey also comes from the farm, as do the vegetables and fruit – that's a very special element of sustainability. We also made use of the special spa on the first floor – that was an added bonus on top of everything else. And finally, our daughter fell in love with the donkeys – so much so that we are now thinking about keeping donkeys on our property. La Mugletta is special because Ulla and Eberhard are special. Of course, Eberhard's honey, which we were lucky enough to bring home from our vacation, is also on the table. The bowls and dishes we made ourselves are also a must. Many thanks once again to Ulla for the wonderful pottery afternoon. The children still talk about it enthusiastically today and are very proud of their creations. We also have fond memories of the many wonderful excursions. The area has so much to offer and thanks to you we were able to explore it in a relaxed and uncomplicated way. Our two children were particularly taken with the private gondola tour with Maurizio, which Ulla organized for us on the side. Every evening we looked forward to returning to the Mugletta to enjoy the peace and quiet, nature and the wonderful view from the terrace or the salotto. Our little dog also felt at home in the truest sense of the word. The extensive property offered the perfect conditions for this.
