About your hosts

When we met many years ago, Ulla already had one foot in Italy. After about a year of commuting, husband followed wife, and we settled at Monterosso. The Euganean Hills with their varied nature immediately cast a spell on us and the small village of Monterosso has been our home ever since. La Mugletta was a turning point that closed our busy schedules and gave us new space for our passions. While Ulla gives free rein to her creativity in her ceramics studio or conjures up cakes and jams, Eberhard devotes himself to beekeeping and bread baking. Anyone looking for us will usually find us in the kitchen or in the fruit and vegetable garden.
For us, La Mugletta means being in the here and now, in the middle of this beautiful nature. A place to come together or to be alone, to grow and feel good, to create and share. Preferably with our guests!

"We visited La Mugetta in March 2025 and stayed 3 nights. We were blown away by the beauty of the property and the generosity of the hosts. I highly recommend trying their Apero-Cena dinner… both Ulla and Eberhard curated an incredible meal for us, and it was a perfect way to enter the area and their B&B after a long flight. We had an interest in Cheese and they helped arrange a very memorable tasting at a nearby creamery. And both Ulla and Eberhard spent so much time over email, helping us with recommendations to make our trip truly memorable. Breakfast was also memorable…. I miss it! I love how the eggs come from their chicken, served on plates Ulla makes….. honey is also from the property along with vegetables and fruits – the sustainability element is so special. We also took advantage of their special spa downstairs – which was such an added bonus to everything else. Lastly our daughter fell in love with their donkeys – so much we are starting to look into how to get donkeys on our property. La Mugletta is special, because Ulla and Eberhard are special. And we can't wait to visit this incredible place again in the future."

"Dear Ulla, dear Eberhard, thank you so much for a wonderful time at La Mugletta. Thank you for the wonderful breakfasts with ingredients from your own garden that we enjoyed every morning. You have inspired us to prepare a special breakfast every Sunday, an "Ulla and Eberhard breakfast". Of course, Eberhard's honey, which we were lucky enough to bring back from our holiday, is also on the table. The homemade bowls and dishes are also a must. Thanks again to Ulla for the wonderful pottery afternoon. The children still talk about it enthusiastically and are very proud of their creations. We also look back fondly on the many wonderful excursions. The area has so much to offer and thanks to you we were able to explore it in a relaxed and uncomplicated way. Our two children particularly enjoyed the private gondola ride with Maurizio that Ulla organised for us. Every evening we looked forward to returning to the Mugletta to enjoy the peace and quiet, the natural surroundings and the wonderful views from the terrace or the salotto. Our little dog also felt at home. The large property offered the perfect conditions for this. We would like to return to La Mugletta soon..."

So I spent a fairytale night, with the gentle sound of the forest enveloping this enchanted place, which is well cared for in every respect. The building, constructed according to the rules of nature, overlooks the expanse of a lush plain. The owner, a cultivated, sensitive person, offered me a charming breakfast.
