La Mugletta

The most important facts in brief

Otium between a hundred hills

Who visits La Mugletta arrives. In a wild flowering garden in the middle of the Euganean Hills, in our B&B, which blends quietly into the Paduan landscape, and hopefully within yourself. Because slowing down is a sensual principle here – from the meditative view of Monte Rosso to the regional cuisine in handcrafted bowls…
B&B La Mugletta combines understated architecture with the most beautiful nature, elegantly relaxed living with atmospheric open spaces, deep tranquillity and enjoyment writ large. A place of longing for happiness – between drifting and discovery, for body and soul.
Come and relax – we look forward to seeing you!

Ulla & Eberhard

About your hosts

When we met many years ago, Ulla already had one foot in Italy. After about a year of commuting, husband followed wife, and we settled at Monterosso. The Euganean Hills with their varied nature immediately cast a spell on us and the small village of Monterosso has been our home ever since. La Mugletta was a turning point that closed our busy schedules and gave us new space for our passions. While Ulla gives free rein to her creativity in her ceramics studio or conjures up cakes and jams, Eberhard devotes himself to beekeeping and bread baking. Anyone looking for us will usually find us in the kitchen or in the fruit and vegetable garden.
For us, La Mugletta means being in the here and now, in the middle of this beautiful nature. A place to come together or to be alone, to grow and feel good, to create and share. Preferably with our guests!

Testimonials

"Surprise!!! A few days ago I had a wonderful time. I was looking for a place at the foot of the Euganean Hills where I could spend the night. A dear friend recommended La Mugletta to me. So I spent a fairytale night, with the gentle sound of the forest enveloping this enchanted place, which is well cared for in every respect. The building, constructed according to the rules of nature, overlooks the expanse of a lush plain. The owner, a cultivated, sensitive person, offered me a charming breakfast. I recommend this place to all those who love fairy tales, originality and attention to detail."

"Simply wow! Rarely have we been to a place that has been so lovingly and sympathetically designed. The hosts welcomed us with an open heart and gave us lots of tips for restaurants and places of interest. A special highlight besides the architecture of the house - the breakfast. Farm to table and different every day. Ulla even offered us a ceramics course, which took place in her studio in the house. A wonderful experience all round and we look forward to another visit."

"La Mugletta's hospitality, style, attention to detail, location and surroundings are second to none! Ulla and Eberhard are wonderful hosts and this starts even before the visit via email contact. Breakfast and the excellent "Apero Cena" are culinary highlights. Absolutely recommendable! We'll be back!"

"Crazy house and very nice host family. We felt right at home. Apart from the numerous other compliments, the charming Eugenian hills were unexpectedly pleasant for us and perfectly complemented the Renaissance villa architecture. In addition to the wonderful fresh breakfast, I was particularly impressed by Maggiolina the cat. Never before have I seen such an untrainable and freedom-loving cat that didn't put a paw inside the house with its fantastic barrier-free exterior and interior spaces! We'll be back."

Ulrike B.

"A truly wonderful place with incredibly nice hosts. The breakfast alone in the great ambience is worth the trip. 1000 thanks to Ulla & Eberhard for the fantastic week at La Mugletta. We want more and will definitely be back."

"Family vacation, August 2023 Many thanks dear Ulla and dear Eberhard, it was once again fantastic and very relaxing. 3 generations and one roof. Everything can, nothing must. You can stay out of each other's way, but you can also spend wonderful hours with the whole family. You have made 10 days possible for us this year. We enjoyed it and can only recommend you to others."
